Why solar?
Easy, because as long as the sun is around, human life and everything associated with it will be able to flourish, and as soon as the sun, just like any star, dies, a cosmic catastrophe will have wiped us out anyway. Essentially, as long as the sun is around, so are we, and as soon as the sun isn't around, we won't either. Cynical? Maybe. Perpetual? Yes! Promoting sustainability is hard enough in society fixated on the seemingly plentiful amounts of oil and coal, yet these resources will run dry soon enough. Based on a recent study conducted by Oxford Universities Energy Policy journal, it is estimated that if the world continues a constant annual consumption of oil, supplies will run out in 2057. However, every Tom, Dick and Jane knows that annually, our demand for oil is increasing at astronomical rates, so much that by 2015, oil demand is prospected to surpass the supply. Now, what every Tom, Dick and Jane doesn't know, is where to turn when that happens. The answer lies in the stars, literally, the biggest one in our galaxy; the sun.
